NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

To appear in the NEET 2022 exam, there are certain eligibility criteria and students who meet with the NEET 2022 eligibility criteria will be able to apply for the NEET ug 2022 examination. Find below all the eligibility criteria like age, educational qualifications, etc.

Students should be a citizen of India and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)

It is compulsory to attain the age of 17 years at the time of admission or on or before 31st December 2022.

The maximum age limit for the general category candidates is 25 and for the reserved category candidates its 30 years.

The qualification to apply for the neet ug 2022 exam is that students have to pass the 12th standard with science stream with Chemistry, Physics, Bio-technology/Biology and English.

Application Fee Details

The application fee is different for each category. Below is the table where you can find the fee according to the category. Students have to pay the application fee in two ways; either by online process or by offline.

  • General and OBC Rs. 1400 Rs.2800 (Extra 1400 is added for the late payment)

  • SC, ST, and PH Rs. 750                 Rs.2150 (Extra 1400 is added for the late payment)

Payment Details

Candidates can make the payment through net banking/debit card/credit card, etc. from Syndicate bank, HDFC bank, ICICI bank, and State Bank of India and through e wallet of Common Services Center.

If a student wants to pay through an e challan, then they have to deposit a fee in Syndicate bank, HDFC bank, ICICI bank, and State Bank of India and generate the e challan.

While filling the online application form, it is very important to check twice before submitting. If you make any mistake, the authority will not accept the application form. So, for correction of the mistake, candidates have to correct it before a period of time.

NEET Exam Pattern

Few Important Points to Remember during the neet exam

Candidates have to bring the admit card, without which no candidates will be allowed to appear in the examination, post card size photograph, card board, ball pen, etc. to the examination center.

NEET 2022 Counselling Process

After the declaration of the result, candidates will be able to know their score and whether they are qualified for the counselling process or not. Find the procedure below:

Firstly, candidates have to register themselves to participate in the counselling session. After completing the registration process, you will be given a User Id and password in your registered mobile number and Email ID. Change the password of your own and keep it for further use. Without registration candidates will not be allowed to seat in the counselling session.

In the second step, candidates have to fill and lock their choices. Candidates can give up to three preferences for the colleges of their choice. After selecting the names of the colleges, candidates have to lock the choices. It is compulsory to lock the seats.

After the completion of the choice filling process, college allotment notifications will be given to the candidates through mail or a message in their registered mobile number. Candidates will get the seat allotment in the colleges according to the marks secured or rank in the NEET 2022 examination and of course according to the availability of seats.

The fourth step is that, candidates will have to report at the assigned and allotted medical and dental colleges. At this stage, candidates have to pay the admission fee and book their seats and confirm it.

1.       Who can apply for NEET 2022 examination?


As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 09.05.2021, in Writ Petition I No.261 of 2021 and other connected matters, following candidates can apply in NEET-2022:


I. Left out candidates who could not register in AIPMT-2021/NEET-I.


II. Candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2021/ NEET-I but could not appear in NEET I.


III. Candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2021/NEET-I and had appeared but have apprehension that they had not prepared well subject to submission of an undertaking to give up their candidature.

Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) may also appear in AIPMT for admission in seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions subject to rules and regulations of the Government of India, respective State Governments and the University/Institution concerned. OCI candidates may verify eligibility norms of participating States/Universities/Institutions before applying for NEET-II, 2021. The upper age limit for applicants seeking admission under seats in the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be as per their rules and regulations.
